Vera Lutter a ghost still is like a place was printed to accompany an exhibition at the Baldwin Gallery in NYC in 2011. Lutter’s work from Venice, Italy is showcased in this body of work. Each image is a unique paper negative made with a camera obscura. Luminous and haunting, Lutter’s work is unmistakable and moving, to say the least. The artist was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany, studied at Munich Academy and the School of Visual Arts, and now lives and works in NYC.
